Thank you for the Pax & Peter stories! We are finishing up the second book and don't want the story to be over. Finding our next reading material will be a challenge, the bar is set so high! |

Dear Mrs. Penny packer.
Hi please read this my name is Violet grainger and I am in love with your book called Pax. My teacher had read the first book to my class and I enjoyed Pax so much that I asked my mom if she can buy me the second book and now I am reading the last chapter of the second book! I am so sad that there isn’t a whole series of Pax or even a movie. YOU ARE ONE OF MY FAVORITE ATHUOURS AND I MEEN IT!!! I have a quick question what inspired you to write Pax? out of all animals you chose a fox. I’m not saying foxes are bad there my favorite animal but how come? Well I don’t want to bug you I hope you make a series of Pax if you don’t I will be sad but happy that you are still writing books maybe they will make a movie of Pax? This book feels like its my best friend.

Dear Sara Pennypacker,
My name is Emerson. I live on a farm and show at the La Crosse County Fair. I show beef and sheep. This year is my second year showing. I have won three trophies. I played volleyball, and I am 10 years old.
I love the part where pax ran off to where his boy dropped him off. But I do not like the part where Pax had to get dropped off.(I almost cried!) This is my favorite book because I loved the ending. My favorite types of books are Mystery, Fantasy, and Fiction.
What inspired you to start writing? What is you favorite book that you wrote? How many books have you written? Thank you for reading my letter.
If you write bake to me please write to
West Salem Middle School, 440 East Ave. West Salem WI 54669
Sincerely, Emerson

In the beginning - middle of the story entitled Pax,Vola did not like people at all and was really tough on Peter, but as the book went on, Vola started to grow soft hearted toward Peter and became a little overprotective of him. Peter tried to encourage her to get out more and spend time with friends. One way Peter tricked her into socializing was by requiring her to donate the marionettes to the library and to offer to teach children about them several times a week. She made a friend right away. Peter knew she should not stay home alone all the time. She had the capacity to become a really nice and friendly person to people around her. For far too long, she had been hiding behind negativity. `

Dear Sara,
I just started reading Clementine with my seven year old daughter. We were laughing the whole time. I couldn't help but recognize certain parallels to my childhood growing up with your son, even the name of her dead cat. I'm so grateful to be sharing this with my daughter.
Thank you for all of the fond memories. |

Hi! My name is Timothy Morgan. I’m from Miller Middle School in Durango, Colorado. My friends and l read your book, PAX, and I want to say that Pax and Peter are very similar. They are the same because of how Peter and Pax lost their loved ones. Peter lost his mom from cancer, his grandmother, his pet fox and his father who was drafted in the war. Pax lost his siblings and was abandoned as a baby in his nest. War is so destructive to mother earth: trees burn down, animals die, and clean water turns into dirty water. Thanks for a wonderful story.
