Unfortunately, the illustrator for my Stuart books (Martin Matje) passed away. He brought so much life to the books with his work that I couldn't imagine doing them with a different illustrator. So sadly, no, I won't be writing any more Stuart books.

I've only written a few Flat Stanley books - the first ones were written by Jeff Brown. After he passed away, his heirs asked me to continue his work, so only the newest Flat Stanley books are by me. I look forward to seeing you in Emporia!

I had hoped Stuart would be a much longer series. But after the second book was published, my amazing illustrator, Martin Matje, passed away. I couldn't imagine continuing the series with a different artist, so sadly there won't be any more Stuart books.

I didn't start writing professionally until I was in my 40s. My favorite part of writing a book is when I get so involved in writing the book that the characters seem to take over... And then they do something funny that I didn't expect. I just love that...
