Sara's Comments Hi Holton,
I am finished with the manuscript for the fifth Clementine. It will be coming out about a year from now. (The fourth one is coming out in a month and a half!)
I don't play any sports now - I don't have the time! - but I do love to swim.
Best,

Hi Sara,
My boys, ages 9 & 10, love reading the Flat Stanley books. In the third grade at their school they always do a unit on Flat Stanley. We are now in the month of June and my son came home and told me that a fellow student just brought in his Flat Stanley pictures months late because it got lost in the mail. I thought - WOW! What a great idea for a title.....Flat Stanley - Lost in the Mail. We would love to hear how your story would go. Thank you. |

Sara - I wanted to thank you for writing the most wonderful books. My daughter (8 and in grade 3) has a learning disability - she is very verbal and outgoing but getting things down on paper challenges her a bit. I think we both recognize the many similarities between her and Clementine! Julia too has had her share of visits to the principal's office. We have now read - many, many times - the three Clementine books. My husband and I take turns reading to Julia at night - and somehow I had never read the chapter in The Talented Clementine (until last week) where Mrs. Rice tells Clementine why she can't have a substitute student. I had tears rolling down my cheeks. As challenging as Julia can be at times I wouldn't have her any other way. Just like Clementine! We can't wait to get our hands on the fourth installment! Thank you! |

Sara's Comments Hi Jala,
I love visiting schools! But in order for me to come to your school, your teachers would have to contact me to discuss having me come for a school visit. |

How did you get inspired to write Clementine books? |
|
|
Sara's Comments I'm inspired to write all books - not just my Clementine books - by my everyday life. It seems everything I see could be an idea for a story! |

emily |
how did you come up with the name clementine |
|
|
Sara's Comments I know it sounds crazy, but I really feel like my characters take on lives of their own in my head. And while I was thinking about this girl, she just told me her name was Clementine! |

Sara's Comments Clementine is based on real people, but she is not an exact copy of any real person! |
