Sara i love the book clementine!it really has lots of surprises and thoughts. i really wish that this book would be popular somehow. but so far everything in clementine is fit for my age when it said"for ages 7-10" and i am eight. you are a very inspiring author to me and i bet to all the kids who bought this book or any other book that you wrote. i am really a fan of clementine and i see your greatness of being an author with that book. i also wish to see you in person and express more of my love and thanks to you. thank you for that wonderful book about clementine! i hope that this book will be with me for a long time! because i dont want to lose a great author like you!
Sara's Comments Thank you for such nice wishes!

sara i have read all of your wonderful Clemintine books i was just wondering are you going to make any other Cleminetine books?
Sara's Comments I absolutely am! I've already written the fifth one, in fact, and there will be at least seven Clementine books!

Hi Sara! I just wanted to express my gratitude for writing the Clementine series. I stumbled upon the first Clementine book while I was teaching English in South Korea. Since then, I have read all 3 (in the process of obtaining the fourth one) to my boyfriend out loud as we drive. We are BIG fans of the series! We don't yet have children of our own, but have already started developing a children's libray. And your books were our starting point! Thank you so much! Looking forward to the 4th one. Sincerely, Marlaina

Hi, Sara- I love your Clementine books and share them with all of my students. Just in case you were not alerted to this already, I believe there is a typo on Page 13 of Friend of the Week. I believe it should read "hysterical" rather than "historical." I apologize if I am wrong. Loved Friend of the Week and look forward to #5!Looking forward to your response.
Sara's Comments Hi Barb! Thanks for letting me know you love the books. And don't worry, "historical" is not a typo. It's a word Clementine has used throughout the series in place of (you got it!) "hysterical." The books are in her voice, and "historical" is a Clementine-ism. Best, Sara

Why does Clementine call her brother a vegetable. He should be named Danny.I wish you the best, Leah.P.S. I put my last name too because there was another leah.
Sara's Comments As Clementine explains it, she calls her brother vegetable names because she got stuck with a fruit name and he didn't. So the only worse thing she can think of is being stuck with a vegetable name - so that's what she gives him! He has a real name, though, but it's a secret. (Well, it's a secret so far... You never know, it might be told in one of the books!) Best to you too, Leah. :)

My Dad and I just finished Friend of the Week in 4 sittings. WE LOVED IT! L-O-V-E I-T! Incredibly Funny (the moment of silence) and really touching (Margaret's "something to do"). We are excited for the next book and glad to hear that it's finished. I know you just put out that last one, but is there a date yet for #5? As always, we will be there the day it comes out. Would you sign our book if we send it to you? (My Dad is wondering.) Thanks for a great book. GM
Sara's Comments Hi Graisa (and Dad!)... I'm SO glad you liked the new book. There is no exact date yet for #5 (The title has changed slightly, but I think it's going to be "Clementine and the Family Meeting") but hopefully it will be out in just about year, maybe a month or so less. Marla (the illustrator) has to create the artwork for it, and then I'll work on any final edits, then it goes to print. And I would be happy to sign your book! Just so you know, if it's easier for you, you are welcome to email me your address at sara@sarapennypacker.com and I can mail you a personalized, autographed Clementine bookplate. Either way is fine for me! Best, Sara

Ms. Pennypacker; I don't know which way I love Clementine best- as a teacher, as a lover of YA/kids books, as a person who really, really appreciates books about families that love and support each other despite the imperfections of real life, or the impulsive, loving, creative, hyper child that I WAS. I just finished Clementine's Letter, and it made me SO HAPPY. I am thrilled to learn that not only there's another for me to read RIGHT AWAY, but there are more in the works. It's the next best thing to more Ramona books, and dare I say it, possibly better. I can't believe that just escaped my mouth/fingers. Thank you. I really needed this. I hope to read them to my students this year, and potentially have the kids adapt it for performance (I'm a drama teacher). Be well. Write lots. Don't sell out to Disney.

oh no fair! put it in your next book because i want to know.cause she said turnip i mean do not to be mean but her vegetable names went to far. it makes me wonder what his name is to be started. like that so put it in the next book please on cherry on top. biggest fan nneka
Sara's Comments Ha! I like the idea of the vegetable names going too far. :) Unfortunately, his real name won't be in the next book. (I know because I've already finished writing it!) But there will be at least seven Clementine books, so there is still time. I promise you this - if Clementine ever sees a reason to say her brother's name, I WILL write it down in a book! Maybe if he got a hold of some peanuts, since he's allergic, she might say his real name. But until then... It's a mystery...
