We just recently started reading Clementine. My husband and daughter are reading it at night and they spend the time reading and laughing! We really feel you could rename the books Emma. It seems you are writing about her! What fun- thank you! |

I just began reading Clementine today, at the recommendation of another educator. Oh my gosh...I am not only laughing hysterically, but I am in love! I gave a copy to a 2nd grade student of mine who reminds me so much of myself at her age. I told her to let me know when she begins the book so we can discuss it over the summer, and I think I would like to use it as a read aloud for my seconds in the fall. However, I can't seem to get to your online discussion guide? Please help! |

Dear Ms. Pennypacker,
My daughter and I recently discovered your Clementine books. They have been such a gift. We have enjoyed lots of Roald Dahl and the Ivy and Bean books. What I appreciate about the Clementine books is the sensitivity with which you write about her journey into becoming fully herself. She is not perfect, but she is so sympathetic. I am an elementary school teacher and have taught many Clementines. Reading your books has reminded me to take a deep breath. Reading them has given my daughter the gift of knowing she is okay, even when she is not okay.
Thanks again for these wonderful books. We look forward to more. |

I love the Clementine series! Clementine is so smart, sweet, thoughtful, spunky, optimistic, and when I read the books I feel like Clementine is a real person in my life! My teacher, Ms.Calvin, says that the most important thing in a fictional story is how the main character changes over time. How do you think Clementine has changed throughout the Clementine series?
Thanks!

Hello, Ms. Pennypacker,
I loved reading your book Clementine (the fist one). IT is very interesting and funny. I loved how you used simple and clear words. It make it easy for me because English is my second language. Thank You!

Hello, Mrs. Pennypacker. My name is Katherine, and I am 9 years old. I read the book, "Clementine," (the first one) and I think that your books are really funny. I hope you write some more Clementine books, because I enjoy them. I like how Margaret can't stand germs. I like how Clementine makes up vegetable names for her little brother. I look forward to reading the next book that you write. I hope you have a good year. Keep up the good work! |

My 8 year old daughter was introduced to Clementine a couple of months ago by her teacher. She loved the first book so much, I bought her three more for Christmas. She has already read all three and wants more. Thank you so much for bringing this character into my daughters life. I look forward to discovering the other books you written and have planned for future release. Thank you again for giving my daughter characters she can relate to and have fun with! |
