Sara- You have created the most beautiful little character in Clementine. I teach grade one. Clementine is part of my class consistently. My students have told me how much they've learned about what a beautiful heart can look like. Thank you so very much. We laugh. And we cry. On a personal note this little girl is me as a child. I'm in the process of completing an anthropomorphic novel for middle-schoolers and read PAX to make sure I fit into the middle-school group. Loved it and couldn't put it down! I was trying to guess ahead what would happen but guessed wrong: I thought there might be a confrontation between Vola, who follows Peter. But that would have been mean-spirited and agreed with your great ending. Fantastic book! |
