Dear Sara Pennypacker,
Hello, my name is Lillian. I am in fifth grade at St. Ignatius of Antioch school. This is a school assignment. I have always wanted to be an author. I love writing poems and stories. I read your book, Pax in four days! I read Pax for a reading competition, your book was the best book I have read all year. In the letter I will tell you how I admire your book and at the end there will be some questions, I hope you will answer them.
Your book helped me see how hard it was during wartime for a child. You also showed me if you're determined you can do anything. I thought Pax the fox was very kind hearted especially when he cared for the little fox when his leg was gone. Peter in my mind was very wanting to see his fox, Pax again. This book showed all different emotions.
If you don’t mind I would like you to answer the following questions. Question number one, what was your inspiration for Pax? Question number two, where did you get the idea for the names used in your book Pax? Question number three, if you were to live the life of a character in your book, Pax, which character would you choose? On last question, why did you choose Pax (Peace) as your title of your book? Dear Sara,
We just finished reading all of the Clementine books in the series. We enjoyed them very much! Caroline's favorite book was The Talented Clementine and Catherine's favorite book was Clementine, Friend of the Week. For every book, we made special book reports: Altoids boxes, dioramas, and a mobile. To celebrate the accomplishment of finishing all seven books, we made a Clementine pinata (in the shape of a clementine fruit). We invited our 5th grade friends to help us bust the pinata. It only took 4 boys! We would love to send you a picture of the pinata, but are not sure how to do that. Please let us know. Thank you for writing books that make us laugh and think about friendship, families, pets, and choices. We are some of your biggest fans!

Dear Ms. Pennypacker
My name is Avery S. Dimick, I’m reading Completely Clementine and so far it’s fabulous! I love the sad animal drawings so much, and I can’t believe how fast the transition from her loving her father to totally despising him. It’s also hard to believe that she keeps track of the time she doesn’t talk to her father. The best part is definitely the sad animal drawings.Why does her mother nest I don’t think mine did that?
