Dear Sara,
You made me laugh, you made me cry, you made me want to get up and kick the wall and hug and kiss everybody all at the same time. All these wacky emotions I felt while reading your book, Pax. I’m not an animal person, and never really had a pet before, but there was something about your book that made me relate so much. It was so engaging and so heartbreakingly beautiful. I just...I just....CRIED, okay? I admit it, I cried. And that was the first time for me crying while reading a book. No book has ever touched me the way Pax did. Thanks for writing it.

Hi Sara, my name is Sarah and I am in 4th grade. I am currently reading the book Pax and I just wanted to ask if you could maybe make a sequel to it! It is such a great book and I can't bear it ending! Maybe the next book is in Pax's point of view of him in the wild, or maybe Peter and Pax somehow find each other! Hi Sara, I am a 5th grade teacher in Sacramento. We read Pax last year as part of The Global Read Aloud and fell in love with the book. So, we read it again this year as our first read aloud of the year. I have a student whose mother is terminally ill, and I was a bit nervous about how Peter's memories of his mom would impact him. I didn't hear or see anything until parent conference time. His dad said that my student was coming home each night talking about the book, including how Peter dealt with the loss of his mother. The student's father bought the book and read it himself so he would understand the references his son was making. Then he had his grown sister and mother read it as well so they could discuss it as a family. Wow. The power of a book. Thank you! |

Hi Sara, I finished Pax and loved it. I snivelled at the ending, in fact. The story reached me on so many levels, one of which is to write something that is as well done. Or come close. And if not, then I will read it to my grandchildren who will soon be old enough to meet Pax. |

Thank you so much for the Clementine series! I am the father of three children, the oldest a 2nd grade girl. I read Clementine to her at bedtime, roughly one chapter a day. When we finish one, she makes sad faces pleading for another. We're currently reading Completely Clementine (first edition), and we noticed a tiny tiny tiny tiny tiny typo on page 156. "It was a lot more fun that Fancy Folks..." In that sentence, "that" should be "than".
I borrowed some Stuart books as well as Waylon! from the library. We plan to read ALL of your books. Thank you again for this wonderful gift to young minds craving captivating and relatable stories.

I already read Clementine, the Talented Clementine, Clementine and the Friendly Letter, Clementine Friend of the Week and Clementine and the Spring Trip. I think your book series Clementine is good because it is funny.
