Hello, Mrs pennypacker My name is Brady Donabauer and I read one of your books. The book was pax and when I read the book I was in 5th grade and now I am in 8th and your book is still in the back of my mind. When I read the book I was to young to realize somethings in the book but now I do. I love the chapters changing focus so one characters story doesn't become annoying. Peter journey to find pax was one of the best part becuase I felt like if I lost my pet I would go on the same journey to find them. Mostly I loved the story and the characters but when peter leaves pax with his new family I was truly moved because you can find anyone to become your family. Thank you for that amazming book. Sincerly, Brady Donabauer

Hi Ms, Pennypacker. I just finished reading PAX and wanted to tell you that it's one of the best books I've ever read. I have been buying books for my great nieces and nephews for several years and always read them before sending them to the kids. I bought PAX for the boys and feel so lucky to have discovered your amazing book. I decided to read "classics" that I'd never read before so I could come out of this awful pandemic a better person. PAX is better than any book I've read so far. I love stories where the characters change and grow and this one did that in spades. I loved how Vola and Peter helped each other heal and grow. You are an excellent writer and I envy you for your talent. Thank you for sharing it with the world. I cried at the end, but was happy for Peter and PAX because they were where they needed to be. I am 78 years old and grateful to you for the experience this beautiful book provided.

Thank you, Ms Pennypacker, for the beautiful story Pax! I am so much looking forward to a special virtual program last week that unites students in NYC with a puppeteer in Portland to explore the healing power of puppets. Your work is valued and appreciated. I hope we can welcome you as a guest in the future!

Sara, My daughter's class was reading Clementine, and to help her with her homework questions, I read the book aloud to her while she drew pictures of the characters so she could pay attention. By the end of the book, I was so choked up, I couldn't read for a minute. Getting to know Clementine was like seeing a combination of myself and my daughter in one person. So much of my own struggles and things my daughter struggles with were mapped out so beautifully in Clementine that not only did I feel seen, but I felt good about what makes me and my daughter different. I bought all seven books right away. I've been reading them aloud to my daughter. I cried in the second book, and just now as I finished the third book, I cried again. I don't know how you know so well what it's like to be like Clementine, but I'm sure glad you've put it all on paper. I never expected children's books to be a source of healing and renewed perspective for me, but it sure is fun to have that be the case. Thank you for painting such a clear picture of what it's like to have a mind that functions the way Clementine's does. I can't wait to read the rest of the series and learn more about your own story from this page. I've also had others recommend your other series to me and I look forward to reading those as well.

Sara - your books are the best - my "honorary" grandmother title will be forever grateful for your books. Maya had me reading 2 1/2 hours today. she loved clementine but was unsure about Waylon....not anymore your books are the best!

I have read the whole Clementine series twice. After the first time, I visited the Park Plaza. After the second time, I got new shoes — thankfully I didn’t have to try them all on! I had an idea about a Margaret series that’s every Clementine book except Margaret side of the story. It would be funny to hear about Principal Rice’s part of the day too, especially my favorite part with the tattoos. Thank you for writing these books that I like so much. -Lia, age 7
Sara's Comments Sound like fun visits!
Clementine
We have really enjoyed reading the Clementine books. And now we know what clementine’s little brother’s name is. It’s Augustus! Signed, Clem and Gus.

Dear Sara, I just finished reading all of the Clementine series. They were so funny and I really enjoyed reading them. I was wondering if you are going to write anymore Clementine books? My favorite book was completely Clementine because I loved when her new sister was born. From, Jackson
Sara's Comments Sorry...seven books and no more!
